It is specified for plate-type heat exchangers, anode baskets, and chemical processing components requiring deep drawing or complex cold forming. It is also the preferred grade for titanium cladding on steel vessels.

Can Grade 1 titanium be welded?
Yes, Grade 1 has excellent weldability. The low strength and high ductility make it the most forgiving titanium grade for welding. No preheat or post-weld heat treatment is required for sections under 13mm. Argon shielding is mandatory on both the torch side and back side of the weld.
