C11000 Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP) copper is the most widely used copper grade — with 100% IACS minimum electrical conductivity, it is the standard material for electrical bus bars, wiring, transformer windings, and electrical connectors. It contains a controlled oxygen content (~0.04%) for optimal conductivity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can ETP copper be welded?

ETP copper is not recommended for welding because the oxygen content can react with hydrogen at elevated temperature, causing steam embrittlement (hydrogen embrittlement). For welded applications, use oxygen-free copper (C10200) or phosphorus-deoxidized copper (C12200).
