Warum können't gray cast iron sein welded?
Der hoch carbon equivalent (3.0-4.5% CE) combined mit rapid weld cooling produces brittle martensite und iron carbide (cementite) in der HAZ, resulting in severe cracking. Specialized nickel-based electrodes (ENi-CI, ENiFe-CI) mit preheat zu 300-600°C und sehr slow cooling können produce marginally acceptable repairs, but structural welding von gray iron ist nicht recommended. Verwenden mechanical repairs (metal stitching, threaded inserts) oder ersetzen der casting instead.
