PEEK (polyetheretherketone) is the highest-performing melt-processable thermoplastic — offering continuous service at 260°C, exceptional chemical resistance, and mechanical properties approaching aluminum. It is specified for aerospace brackets replacing aluminum (weight savings), semiconductor wafer handling components, medical implantables, and oil & gas downhole connectors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes PEEK processing different from standard thermoplastics?

PEEK requires: (1) melt temperature 360-400°C — standard machines limited to 350°C cannot process it; (2) mold temperature 160-200°C (oil-heated, not water); (3) drying at 150°C for 3-4 hours to <0.02% moisture; (4) careful cooling rate control — crystallinity (and thus mechanical properties) depends directly on cooling rate from the melt.
