Magnesium Alloy Materials

Magnesium alloys sind der lightest structural metals bei 1.74–1.83 g/cm³—33% lighter als aluminum und 77% lighter als steel. AZ91D (9% Al) ist der dominant die casting alloy für laptop cases, camera bodies, und automotive steering wheels. AZ31B ist der standard wrought grade für sheet und extrusion. Key limitations: poor corrosion widerstand requiring protective coatings, galvanic corrosion wenn contacting dissimilar metals, limited elevated-temperature strength (creep über 120°C für AZ alloys), und flammable machining chips. Used wo weight reduction justifies der higher per-kg kosten.
