Nickel Alloy Materials
Nickel alloys (Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, Incoloy) contain ≥30% nickel and provide exceptional corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength far beyond stainless steels—at 10–20× the cost. They are specified when stainless steels have proven inadequate: Inconel 625/718 for aerospace turbines and nuclear reactors, Hastelloy C-276 for severe wet corrosion, Monel 400 for hydrofluoric acid service, and Incoloy 800H/825 for furnace and chemical plant applications. PREN values exceeding 45–50 far surpass the best super austenitic stainless steels.
